Management of advanced cancers arising form lungs or other structures in thoracic cavity depends on the cancer type and staging. Standard treatment modalities involve surgery, radiotherapy and systemic therapies (chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapies), either as single modality or combination. The treatment decisions are generally made in a multi-disciplinary tumour board meeting where each case is individually discussed, and consensus treatment plan is made. Patients unsuitable for above therapies are provided palliative/supportive care.
